Listen to me carefully (work in progress)

Elderly women, revered and respected in Albanian society, continue to face a significant challenge - the lack of a media platform to express themselves. While society holds them in high regard, their voices often remain unheard in a world captivated by youth and beauty. This societal emphasis on youthful appearance, especially on social media platforms, creates difficulties for elderly women, undermining the notion that true beauty lies within and is shaped by a lifetime of experience.

In the past 30 years of photographing I was repeatedly captivated by the strength of elderly women in Albania. Whilst they have been part of most of my projects, I felt the need to dedicate one project to them; maybe because with age, I am beginning to grasp the experience of no longer being at the forefront of society's attention.

With this project I want to give Albanian elderly women a platform for their sories, because it is time to amplify their voices, celebrate their achievements, and create a more inclusive world that truly values women of all ages.
