Tirana Circus

I always approach my photography with a clear subject in mind, yet without a detailed plan. The beauty lies in the spontaneity of the moment, as I cannot predict what will unfold before my lens. When I embarked on the Tirana Circus series, I initially captured the artists in action, but I felt that something was missing. There was a lack of connection between the photographer and the subject. It was then that I decided to delve deeper and capture their portraits.

Through this approach, I constructed scenarios and gently directed the artists, placing them in fitting environments and illuminating them with the perfect light. These portraits became my canvas, akin to paintings, where I could express the emotions stirring within me. Each portrait carries a touch of melancholy, revealing a glimpse of sadness amidst the vibrant world of the circus. While the artists endeavored to convey joy and color, the circumstances of that time hindered their efforts.
