Bodies of Water

Albania, a land embraced by waters, reveals a captivating tapestry of lakes and rivers nestled between its Adriatic and Ionian shores. Among its aqueous treasures, three majestic lakes grace its landscape: Lake Skutari in the North, along with the Eastern gems of Lakes Ohrid and Prespa. These shimmering bodies of water bestow a sense of enchantment upon the region.

Albania boasts a collection of noteworthy rivers that weave through its terrain, each with its own character and allure. The Drini, Mati, Shkumbini, and Vjosa rivers stand as testaments to the country's natural splendor, carving their way through the picturesque scenery.

However, despite the abundance of aquatic wonders, tourism has yet to fully flourish along these secluded shores. Instead, the local people forge their own deep connection with the waters that surround them, seeking sustenance and livelihood from the lakes, rivers, and the vast expanse of the sea. It is through their resourcefulness and intimate bond with the water that they carve out their existence, making a living with the ebb and flow of these aquatic realms.
